Movie project

Published by under Uncategorized

My teacher, Mrs. Lofton has assigned our class to do a movie project based on the book, “The Giver.” She gave us a story board for our characters to say and put us to work. Also, the movie has to be about a rule they hd in the book. My rule was, everyone has to say their thoughts. I put a link to the project below. Please do not edit anything on the project it counts on my grade.

Elsewhere

Published by under Uncategorized

I have recently read a book called “Elsewhere” by Gabrielle Zevin. In the book, a character named Liz ends up going to Elsewhere because of a terrible accident. She has to learn to give up her own life and start to begin her new life on Elsewhere. Although she may not like leaving her friends and family behind, she has to face the fact that she will never see them again.

This picture reminds me about Liz and Elsewhere because in the book these binoculars could watch what people did on Earth. Liz would frequently go to the binoculars to watch over her family and friends.

Spring break!!!

Published by under Uncategorized

Over Spring break I visited Squaw Valley, Tahoe. I had so much fun snowboarding. It was my 3rd time snowboarding and I could already connect turns, do jumps, and do switch stance. I never thought that I would learn to snowboard that fast! It snowed on the 1st and 2nd night so we had fresh powder. Speeding down the runs couldn’t have been more fun. The first few days were torture, at the end of the day my legs were killing me. Also, my boots were to small. I got used to the pain and tiny boots by the forth day. Sqaw valley was a blast! I wish I could go back. Hopefully, I will go back next winter!Tahoe

Surf Girl

Published by under Uncategorized

The water sprayed my face. I couldn’t see where or what I was going to ride. Dropping into a monster wasn’t my plan for today. I looked up at the giant wave. There was no way out. I was trapped. The horn blew for the five mintes left in my heat. I went for it. I thought about my mom. I saw her face smile at me. Her angelic voice whispered to go.

Surfer Girl is about a girl named Kailani who grew up in Pinetrees, Kauai. Kailani is forced to move to Malibu, California after her mother dies lifeguarding during Kauai’s biggest storm. Even though it breaks her heart to leave her homeland, her father makes her. She finds Malibu to be a cold cruel place, until she meets Kylie. Kylie is a fellow girl surfer who introduces Kailani to the competitive surfing world. Kailani becomes best friends with Kylie until they have to compete against one other. The worst part besides competing against your best friend is having to go back to Kauai. Will Kailani be strong enough to go to the place her mother had drowned or will she give up her dreams of being a pro surfer?

New Moon by Stephanie Meyers

Jacob Black is an easy tempered warewolf who falls for a girl named Bella Swan. He becomes saddened when he finds that Bella doesn’t feel the same about him. Here are some resoultions to help Jacob. The first resoultion would probably be not to fall so hard over a girl. That would be the best for him because  Bella choose Edward insted of Jacob. Which Jacob couldn’t handle because he liked her so much. Resoultion number two would be to get in control of his temper. Being in control of his temper would mean that he could be able to be in control of changing into a warewolf. Lastly,  the final resolution would be to get along with the Cullens. Meaning , befriending the vampires that Bella liked. It would be a smart idea to do that because then he could beable to enjoy the family without wanting to kill them. Those are some resoulutions for Jacob Black.

My Vacation Visitors

Published by under Uncategorized

As you may know over the break I went to Costa Rica. While my family and I were on our vacation, we were visited by our family friends, the Moscos. The Moscos were fron Toronto, Canada and were estactic to see our family, as well as be in warm weather. Although the girls, Shae, 12, and Tess, 11, weren’t really into the whole surfing idea, their Dad, Jay, wanted to try. Jay had tried hard but didn’t come close to surfing the big waves. Instead of joining my brother, my father, and me in the early morning, they relaxed by the pool with the moms. At dinner, we’d usually meet up by the hotel’s bar. Once everyone was there, we’d go to the nearest restaurant. By the end of the trip, they had an excellent time and loved hanging out with us.

My Dog Buddy

I have a 4 year old golden retriever named Buddy. He is the best dog I could ever ask for. I can’t imagine anything happening to him. Buddy is very tough, strong, funny, and loving dog. Whenever I take him for walks we see 2 little dogs, he gets to their size and smiles at them. Although many people may think he’s snarling, about to attack, he’s actually smiling (as the vet explained to us). We never knew dogs smiled, but apparently he does. He also learnt how to table top my brother, Ashton, and pull down his pants. My mom always trys to stop it, but she laughs to hard. In conclusion, my dog is the greatest dog in my eyes.

Lockie Leonard, Scumbuster By Tim Winton

The reason I read this book, was because my teacher, Mrs. Lofton, recommended it to me. I believe she recommended it this book because she knew I was a surfer and the book revolves around a surfer.

In the book, Lockie Leonard and his newly found friend Egg try it to stop all of the pollution in their local harbor. The plans for the harbor were going well intil Lockie meets a young grommit named Dot. He becomes infatuated with her and nearly forgets all about the harbor. But, it turns out Dot’s only 12 years old and Lockie’s 14. That doesn’t stop Lockie’s love for her. When Lockie starts hanging around Dot, Egg gets fed up with his behavior. The problem was that Lockie was paying more attention to Dot than helping with the problem with the harbor. Also, Lockie blows off Egg for Dot, when Egg needed him most. When that event occurs, Egg becomes outraged. You’ll have to read more to find out what happens next. This book is a great book and I would recomend this to one of my friends.

This Creative World

Published by under Uncategorized

Creativity to me is like a wave that never ends. A never breaking perfect wave that goes on forever. Or maybe a waterfall, hearing the sound of water crashing into a calm lake. The most beautiful sunset on the horizon waiting to drop down past the waterline. Being in a forest, feeling water trickle on your nose. Feeling the thrill of coming out of the most magnificent hollow barrel, smiling like you just won the lottery.
